Project Description

At the time it was awarded, the $117.8-million Pleasantville Consolidation Project was the largest construction contract in DCC's history—and it had a scope to match. The four-storey, 35,000-m2 structure replaced 13 buildings and provided a new home for CFS St. John's, including maintenance garages, warehouse space, gym, medical unit, mess hall, offices and a new Military Family Resource Centre.

Experienced DCC staff were on site every day to direct the work and support both DND and the contractors, hosting a full-day partnering session to help manage unexpected discoveries such as multiple old foundations and concrete-encased storm and sanitary sewers. With the partners' collaborative focus on achieving a common goal, they found solutions for every challenge.
