Project Description

DCC began working with DND at Lac Saint-Pierre in 2007, to help manage unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO) left behind from munitions testing programs. Through a series of contracts, the DCC project team has assisted in identifying and removing hundreds of UXOs that posed the highest risk at the flat-bottomed lake, which is used by both recreational and commercial interests.

DCC has developed considerable expertise in the area of UXO management over the past decade. This enabled the team to successfully coordinate geophysical surveys to confirm historical data, identify projectiles using GPS coordinates, and complete a thorough clean-up in advance of dredging work that improved accessibility to the lake.
